C-343 – The Canada-Taiwan Relations Framework Act – aims to improve relations between Canada and Taiwan.

There’s a number of fairly small things in C-343, but the general idea is that the federal policy will be to treat Taiwan as its own nation separate of the People’s Republic of China. This includes things like supporting Taiwan’s participation in military exercises, supporting their participation in trade agreements like the Trans-Pacific Partnership, and supporting their participation in groups like the WHO and Interpol.

Progress

C-343 is currently waiting to get on the Order of Precedence.
