C-259 – An Act to amend the Aeronautics Act (collision avoidance system) is a short and simple Bill. It amends the Aeronautics Act to require that any gliders that have an enclosed cockpit and weigh more than 200kg, as well as anything used to tow these gliders, need to have a GPS-based collision avoidance system.
C-226 – National Strategy Respecting Environmental Racism and Environmental Justice Act – would require the Minister of the Environment to establish a strategy to address environmental racism.
C-234 – An Act to amend the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act – would change the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act to expand what farming machinery is exempt from the Carbon Tax to include heating and cooling, as well as extend the exemption for farming fuel to natural gas and propane.
C-293 – Pandemic Prevention and Preparedness Act – sets up a committee to review Canada’s response to COVID-19 and report back on what we should do to better prepare for future pandemics. The Minister of Health would also be required to put together a pandemic prevention and preparedness plan based on this information.
C-228 – Pension Protection Act – is a straightforward one. It makes changes to the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act to ensure that any company that goes bankrupt meets any obligations they have when it comes to pension plans and group insurance plans. C-228 also makes a small change to the Pension Benefits Standards Act. At the moment every year a report is sent to the House on how well the Pension Benefits Standards Act is working.
