C-204 – An Act to amend the Income Tax Act (volunteer firefighting and search and rescue volunteer tax credit) – increases the amount of tax credits firefighters get.
Gord wants to increase the tax credit that firefighters and search and rescue volunteers can claim from $3,000 to $10,000. This Bill also changes who qualifies for this tax credit to include anyone that volunteers at a fire department, not just the people who engage in emergency response.
If this sounds familiar it’s because Gord sponsored Bill C-310 last Session, which would have done the same thing.
