Hello everyone!
Sorry I’ve been silent for the last few months. I needed to put these updates aside for a bit while I reevaluated my approach to this entire project. Put simply trying to do daily updates on two levels of government while working a full-time job got to be too much to handle, and no matter how good a job I was doing at keeping on top of things a single budget bill was all it took to throw off all that work and put me behind again.
So what’s the plan?
First up I’m going to be stopping the full daily summaries. Instead I’m only going to be doing the bill summaries. I’ll still be doing daily posts, they’ll just be focused on individual bills instead. That’ll make it easier for me to keep the updates going, even when I need time to do a deep dive on a particularly large bill.
Second, I’m dropping the provincial summaries and bringing the focus back to the federal ones. I’ve gotten better responses from the federal posts, so people seem to be more interested in those and I want to make sure I’m giving you guys what you’re interested in. I’ll still dip in to provincial matters if I see something making the news or I get requests to look into them, and I’ll expand that to the other provinces as well instead of just focusing on Ontario. (It’ll be easier to do that when it’s only an occasional thing instead of trying to do full daily breakdowns)
