C-323 – An Act to amend the Excise Tax Act (mental health services) – would make it so GST is no longer added to the cost of services provided by psychotherapists or mental health counselors. (Worth noting that GST currently doesn’t apply to a long list of therapy and counseling, including dietetics, psychology, and speech-language pathology)

On Sept 27, 2023 C-323 went up for its Second Reading vote and passed with everyone voting in favour!
C-323 came back from its committee review without change, though Stephen proposed that it be sent back to have the committee consider adding massage therapy to the list of exemptions.
This passed with 174 voting in favour and 149 voting against.
