C-371 – The Rail Passenger Priority Act – makes it so passenger trains are given priority over commercial transport trains.
The changes here are made to the Canada Transportation Act. The first is that if there are any scheduling conflicts between passenger trains and freight trains, the passenger trains win. The second makes it so any company that doesn’t follow this can be fined up to $250,000.
Progress
C-371 is currently outside of the Order of Precedence.
