C-415 – The Flight Attendants’ Remuneration Act – creates new protections for flight attendants to ensure they get paid for time worked.
Under this Act employers of flight attendants will need to include any hours spent on pre- or post-flight duties, mandatory training, or on-call as hours worked. It also ensures that flight attendants are paid at their normal wage rate for these hours, employers won’t be allowed to pay them a reduced rate.
Now for anyone who thinks this sounds familiar it’s because a similar Bill, C-409, was introduced a while back. The only difference between the two is this Act makes sure flight attendants are paid at their normal rate while C-409 prevents the government from creating exemptions to these rules.
Progress of C-415
C-415 is currently outside of the Order of Precedence.
