C-211 – An Act to amend the Income Tax Act and the Canada Pension Plan (deeming provision) – makes it easier to apply for federal disability benefits.
We saw this one last Session but Laurel Collins, the sponsor at the time, didn’t get re-elected so Gord has decided to introduce it again.
C-211 makes changes to the Income Tax Act and the Canada Pension Plan to make it easier to qualify for federal disability benefits. Anyone that qualifies for a provincial disability benefit will automatically be registered for the federal benefit, no need to apply for both separately.
Progress of C-211
C-211 is currently outside of the Order of Precedence.
